Shower Tile Replacement When Adjacent Floor And Base Tile Replaced?

In this scenario there is damage to the floor tile and both the floor and base tile are being replaced.  As seen in the picture the floor tile and base tile both run adjacent to the shower tile.  Although the shower tile does not match the floor and base tile it is very possible that it would be damaged in th removal of the floor and base tile.

Answer this poll below

The shower tile will be damaged when removing the base and floor tile. The shower tile should also be replaced.
The shower tile might not get damaged. The insurance carrier should not pay for the shower tile yet. They can tell the policyholder to call them later if it gets damaged. Statistically the will never do the work and so this will save the insurer money.
Through a micro-surgery type process any contractor can carefully remove the grout from the existing shower tile. If there is damage from the grout removal the contractor can hide it for the insurance company by applying more grout on the bottom tile.
The insurer should tell their contractor to perform the work and if it is damaged then call them back so that the insurer can then blame it on their contractors negligence
